Asgari stated that the operation has further highlighted Khorramshahr Port’s capabilities in supporting the supply chain and developing regional trade. It has also paved the way for more effective utilization of multimodal transport capacities.

“The use of a multimodal transport model not only increases productivity and facilitates cargo movement but also helps develop export markets and strengthen trade ties with neighboring countries,” Asgari explained.

The Director General emphasized the port’s strategic role in the country’s trade corridors, noting that the development of multimodal transport and increasing the share of rail cargo movement are key objectives of national development plans. Khorramshahr Port has taken effective steps in this direction.
